MARISA CAPRARA – ART BIOGRAPHY
Born in Argenta (Ferrara, Italy) in 1953, I now live in the province of Reggio Emilia.
A graduated Designer and Fashion Designer (G. Bellerio Sidoli Institute in Reggio Emila) and a qualified Interior Designer (Vicenza Institutes).
I never attended a school of arts, even if my passion for drawing and painting manifested in my early ages. I am a self-taught painter.
I love travelling, espacially to far places, in order to discover different cultures, I love arts, fashion, design, furniture, photography, classic and mostly contemporary dancing, English and American music, movies – even oriental ones, reading (classics and biographies), psychology, numerology, personal growth, healthy food, animals, environmental documentaries and MotoGP.
Even if I chose fashion design, my job has been Designer and Technical-Graphic Responsible in Graphic Department of Ceramics sector for 35 years, designing and producing hundreds of drawings of various types.
The work I developed during time brought me to be constantly updated about colour, shapes, lines trends, refining my inborn sensitivity towards infinite chromatic nuances, raw materials and textures.
In my today paintings I am bringing these work experiences.
Used supports are canvas or wooden boards. The techniques I am using are various: oil colours, acrylic or metallized colours and mortars, acrylic resins, gold or silver leaves, various materials like textile, bag canvas, paper in various weights, newspapers, stones, coins, sand… and anything that can allow me to experiment new forms of expression.
Nevertheless, I am in continuous evolution because I prefer to change style, experiment new techniques and develop different themes.
People and moments in life are changing; therefore also tastes, thoughts, emotions and anything you want to express are changing.
I prefer abstract, informal and concept art, but I also paint fine arts.

Artist Marisa Caprara is the highest expression of visual lyric.
In her marvellous works of art, the potential of a polyhedral artis is present, able to conjugate fine painting arts to a plastic conceptualism with a highly emotional and refined effect.
The delicacy of her lines shows up in every work of hers in the moment in which colour follows soul instinct and expresses a poetic sweetness in a well balanced whole.
An artist who proposes flowers, shapes, geometries, instants of magic meditative and introspective reality in half-abstract moments. The use of colour becomes a fainting crayon in contrast with mostly white backgrounds.
A concept as well as informal reminding technique, in rhythmics and delicate traits which let experienced sensations and emotions flow onto its support. In this context, art becomes poetry and poetry becomes a tangible visual reality.
Marisa Caprara expresses her interiority in the most delicate possible way, through impressed signs and thanks to the materials applied on the support, creating rhythmic expressions which dance on the supports almost like visual melodies capturing and bringing the audience into a space-time dimension composed of fainting and well combined elements.
An absolute originality, that as a whole is showing a strong and refined character, a delicate and sentimentally profound temper, addressing to real life values.
Technical mastery is particularly appreciated.

Small silver and black plantes are chasing themselves in an infinite movement. “Everything comes back” seem to suggest the darkest and biggest dark sphere, representing punctually after the three grey minor ones.
Universe is indented, on the sides concentric rings are designing depth and multiples and at the same time, they are staging a curtain opening on space wonders.
